A new nationwide poll reveals that Americans overwhelmingly oppose banning online social games with sweepstakes promotions, preferring regulation and taxation that would protect consumers, preserve choice, and deliver economic benefits for states.
The survey of U.S. voters found:
- 84% agree the government should modernize and update laws to regulate and tax online social gaming, providing more money for state budgets.
- Voters overwhelmingly prefer that lawmakers focus on pressing issues like inflation and the high cost of living, health care and immigration, not banning popular free-to-play entertainment.
- Only 8% believe the games should be banned.
