On Monday, September 8th, tribal members gathered at the California statehouse to protest AB 831.

Members of Kletsel Dehe Wintun Nation, Sherwood Valley Rancheria of Pomo Indians, Mechoopda Indian Tribe of Chico Rancheria, and Big Lagoon Rancheria gather in Sacramento to protest Assembly Bill 831, which they say threatens tribal sovereignty and economic opportunity for disadvantaged tribes through the criminalization of legitimate digital commerce like online social games with sweepstakes promotions around the Sacramento Capitol Building on Monday, September, 8, 2025 in Sacramento, CA.
